Job Description

A highly established company based in Philadelphia is seeking a Systems and Network Administrator to provide desktop support, manage routine processes such as backup, antivirus, and system logging, make purchase recommendations for hardware and software, and support all aspects of a Windows/VMWare environment including Windows Server, Active Directory, VMWare/VDI, LAN/WAN communications, Exchange, SQL, ISA, and Firewall administration and troubleshooting.

What You Will Do: Provide technical support for all products, departments, and locations with the direction and support of the Chief Information Officer. What You Will Need:

  • Demonstrates strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills to allow efficient and effective problem identification and apply appropriate solution
  • Illustrates high attention to problem description, detail, and impact
  • Ability to understand and work in compliance with company security processes and regulatory requirements
  • Self-motivated and goal-oriented, capable of working in a fast paced and changing environment
  • Ability to deal with multiple concurrent support issues and projects.
  • Researches, tests, and implements technical solutions that are effective and limited in risk exposure
  • Identifies and prioritizes system issues to minimize customer and operational impact

Required Technical Skills:

  • Demonstrates in-depth technical knowledge of Windows operating systems and VMWare/VDI
  • Make recommendations based on system generate performance logs and metrics
  • Develops written operating procedures for applications
  • Maintains accurate documentation of hardware inventory, IP allocation, and software licensing
  • Tests and Installs vendor supplied patches and updates
  • Manages integrations, deployments, and upgrades of hardware, operating systems, and applications
  • Installs, configures, manages, and troubleshoots

  • MS Office and other standard business applications
  • Network Performance and Connectivity
  • Active Directory
  • Backup and Antivirus Applications
  • Share and NTFS access permissions
  • Windows Group Policy and GPO application deployment
  • Administer DNS, DHCP, and other Windows Services
  • Web Content Filtering
  • Email filtering and risk management

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Degree/college diploma in Business or Computer Science or technical certification (Network+, MTA, MCSA, or MCSE)
  • 5 or more years experience supporting a similar environment
