Job Description

The Land Planner performs a variety of complex planning assignments; identifying problems and developing efficient solutions for our clients enabling them to better the environment and their communities. 
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
• Market, sell and cross-sell professional services for all disciplines and office locations
• Review permits, site plans, plan amendments and rezonings
• Conduct research and prepare statistical reports on land use, physical, social & economic issues
• Perform site investigations to gather relevant data to ensure compliance with approved plans
• Identify community problems and develop plans to remedy those issues
• Develop strategies to promote economic and efficient land use consistent with community goals
• Recommend priorities, schedules and sources of funding to implement public improvement plans
• Prepare visual aids (charts, maps, etc.), to use in presenting information to a community
• Prioritize and manage multiple projects, subconsultants and internal groups
• Proactive and responsive communication with clients
Essential Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Planning, Landscape Architecture or related area
• 4+ years of Planning experience
Desired Qualifications:
• Master’s Degree in Planning or related area
• AICP Certification 
Essential Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
• Organized and detailed oriented with strong interpersonal skills
• Demonstrates the highest degree of ethical behavior and candor
• Ability to interact with Federal, State & Local government agencies and officials
• Possesses advanced knowledge of principals, practices and techniques of planning
• Possesses basic knowledge in related fields such as geography, engineering, architecture, etc.
• Maintains knowledge of industry trends and legislation and ensures organizations compliance
• Ability to build relationships with all staff, subconsultants and clients
• Confident, enthusiastic team player with a passion to work in a demanding and fast paced environment
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, stay focused, set clear milestones and execute diverse projects simultaneously
• Ability to perform in an environment that requires independent evaluation, judgment and decision making
• Ability to work independently and as part of a project team
• Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite
Essential Position Requirements:
• Occasional regional travel required
• Ability to work additional and/or nonstandard office hours, as required
