II-VI Optical Systems' designs, manufactures, assembles and tests precision optical systems and components. Our products have been deployed on military platforms such as submarines, tanks, missiles, fighter jets and UAV's. Responsible for managing the company's portfolio of Engineering Development proposals.
Responsible for searching and gathering information leading toward System of System house RFI's, RFP's, and RFQs and government BAAs and RFI's.
Maintains the funnel of proposals from concept through award decisions
Solicits internal input and makes Bid/NoBid recommendations to the Leadership Team
Works with SLT and ESLT to identify SME's needed to support a proposal, pulls together the ad hoc teams and manages the teams under pressure to tight deadlines
Reads and understands proposal requirements and translates those into tactical direction to the proposal team.
Manages multiple simultaneous proposal opportunities spread across multiple locations including on site at customers and/or other teaming partners
Reads and understands proposal response and identifies gaps and weaknesses of a written proposal as it relates to the proposal requirements.
Edits and prepares proposal submissions.
Provides presentations to customers and proposal review committees
Provides presentations to Senior Leadership team and SOC on as needed basis.
Provides analysis of Bid and Proposal activity and provides updated reports.
Responsible for preparing summary reports in support of monthly communications meetings.
Works with BD to ensures the quality of data in Saleforce.com relating to the short term opportunity and life time opportunity
Gathers and analyzes data and makes decisions, suggestions, and recommendations for the 5 year plan.
Works with department forecasting to ensure accurate bookings forecasts
Minimum Bachelor's Degree Engineering or Physics.
10+ years in Program Management or Business Development role
5+ years minimum experience in government proposals. Demonstrated analytical skills. Experience with program management.
1. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required.
2. Microsoft Project skills required.
3. Strong leadership skills. Must be persuasive and have strong leadership skills and ability to motivate individual personnel and functional teams to mutually agree on resolutions to open items.
4. Flexibility, versatility, and comfort level for working with multiple individuals and personalities.
5. Strong organizational skills and attention to details.
6. Sense of Urgency.
7. Strong analytical skills.
8. Familiar with business development, marketing, and negotiation techniques.
9. Excellent communication, motivational, and presentation skills.
10. Proficient in all standard desktop software tools such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Intermediate PowerPoint skills required.
